Both great stories,

For me..it grew up in a VERY small town.. 1000 people.. BUT.. on the other end of my block was a clock shoe, Jewelry and Hobby store.. (Dons).. or Reinheart Jewelry and Hobby. I would mow a lawn and run to the store as fast as I could.. I would buy Slotcars (98cents).. rocket engines (69 cents) model rail road supplys.. you name it.. Don was a GREAT guy.. he had a shed near his house and he would work on his Model As and Ts when he was not working the store.. I would hang out and he would teach me about the motors, cars and what ever....

Anyway.. David and Ray.. great times for sure.

I was really impressed with the die cut wood parts in the Tom's Cat kit. Pretty sure I built it a kit review for whatever model boat magazine I was writing for back in the day.

What magazine DIDN'T you write for Jerry? I seem to remember an article in many of the boating magazines with your name on it

This stuff does not end...

Like I said, I grew up in Manhattan NYC. Back then Macy's Dept. store had a huge hobby section. But the best was when I climbed that long flight of stairs and entered American Hobbies on 22 nd street for the first time. I stood there in awe with my mouth open at the displays and what hung from the ceiling. Nirvana for sure. I remember when I bought my first big dog engine. 🤣 Stallion 35.
Love this stuff Ray!
I flew Fox .35s, Mcoys,Enyas, and O S 35s!
I flew a lot of 1/2A stuff too!
No electric start.......bare hand or chicken stick!
My favorite plane was a Flight Streak!!
