I had that hull and had to replace and reinforce all the hardware. How you get a 40mm motor in it is a mystery to me. With a 2000kv 36X56 mm motor and a 642 or 1715 it ran 50's and handles like crap. I would buy a JAE 26 instead, JMO

I am not trying to rain on anyone's parade just giving info from experience I don't see a 4070 Leopard listed anywhere. What are the dimentions of your motor? Length and diameter minus cooling jacket. KV and how many cells? I have run small hydro's on 3 and 4 cells 29 and 36mm motors.

All good now we can get down to business. With a high 2700kv (1 1/2 to 2w) motor you have more power than you need. Stay small in prop diameter 40 - 45mm and pitch will dictate speed. ABC 1714 to 1716 and even an Octura M445. Are you using the .150 driveline that came with the boat? A 4065 has a lot of torque and with too much diameter it will break. That hull will run 50-60mph with a 3660 motor 2000-2400kv. You have 70mph capability but the boom tubes will break(maybe more) when it reenters after it leaves the water. Have fun with it and let us know how it goes. Excess power and speed will amplify bad handling issues. I usually go with lower power to start and work out handling bugs then power up.
Short of changing motors you may want to turn your throttle % down on your radio and gradually increase it.
