DSM batteries?

Why does the Futaba web site say that dry cell batteries cannot be use with dsm receivers?

I assume they specifically mean zinc-carbon cells like the classic Eveready "Heavy Duty" cells which always ended up leaking and trashing whatever they were installed in.

you don't use them in your Rx (or your Tx for that matter) because zinc-carbon dry cells can only deliver a rather tiny amount of current before their voltage sags to useless levels. Your receiver would shut down due to low voltage any time you turn the rudder.

Thanks. When I read that I was like, what the heck kind of batteries do they want you to use?
