The C19 is a biological. The virus did come from the Lab in China.
This lab is well known in the Academic arena and is known to be doing research on viruses

It APPEARS that it is not known if the virus got out due to poor safety measures or other conspiracy possibilities abound

It has been felt that it may have come from their research animals that were sold to the street meat markets if it was felt by them that animal to human transmission did not occur
Interesting...but where is the proof of that?????

We all can see this subject rapidly picking up speed going downhill.....
Why not consider getting off this subject and talk RC boats......there is an off - topic thread for this subject....
In the end the only explanation for this mess will be........"it is what it is".......

I couldn't agree more, Rod.
Mr Ferrette, could you move this thread to the Off Topic area? That is what that area is for, IIRC

Doc knows the PROPER way to ware.. and REMOVE a mask.. the pubic has Z E R O idea. Hand sanitation.. Doc is an expert.. the rest of us.. likely not so much. I understand hot or cold water.. does not matter.. chemical and time do... So.. what do we REALY know.

And to ANYBODY that thinks its "your fault" because somebody got sick in a crowd you were at or family gathering.. ITS NOT.. its the ATTACKERS THAT PLANTED THIS THING.. BOTTOM LINE.. you are nothing more to them then the object caring the ordnance.

This goes way deeper than most are willing to understand..................

Covid is a real threat. Your call on what numbers you believe. I kind of take DEATH count as the bottom line. The rest, cases and percentages are tools we can use, improve or ignore. Even with a large margin of error the deaths are in the six figure range. Over a 10 year period the CDC (which we used to trust) reported 15 to 60 thousand deaths from influenza. Average about 30,000 a year. It never put hospitals to the numbers that caused them to cut down elective procedures and go over capacity in numerous areas around the country.
So you can
1. Ignore the threat and let it run wild. More refrigerator trucks outside hospitals which will be overwhelmed. Ask any ER staff.
2. Go total lock down for a shorter period and reduce it to ashes. Two weeks notice and 2 weeks no one goes anywhere.
3. Take a look at what in between will mitigate the spread. Maybe better PPE and some real sacrifice for everyone. Masks and distance are working (New YorK) so improve the concept if you want to make them more effective. Does someone in YOUR family have to die or maybe attain a life long disability.

In Australia we have 26 million people. We have had just on 1000 deaths. We had a 4 week lockdown. The conservative states South Australia ( capital city Adelaide ) and Northern Territory ( capital Darwin) came out with only cases traced back to international travellers . Western Australia (capital Perth) closed its borders and its higher number of cases were all traced back to arrivals from cruise ships. Queensland ( capital city Brisbane) closed its borders as most of there cases were either from overseas returns of from NSW or Victoria travellers , also all contract traced back to overseas returnees. The more liberal states of Victoria (capital city Melbourne) and New South Wales ( capital city Sydney) have the highest case numbers and had the most cases of people not maintaining the lockdown laws.
A lot of the cases in Sydney stem from cruise ships arriving and the safety protocals not being implimented. There is a commission of inquiry ( royal Commission) going on into this massive breakdown in safety . A lot of lives lost are attributed to this safety breakdown.
Masks are to stop the wearer from spreading mucus, which may or may not contain the virus. Victoria went into stage 4 lockdown , including manditory wearing of masks. They issued the highest number of infringement fines in our country for breaking covid 19 restrictions. Many people fined totally disobeyed the social distancing and gathering rules, and a small number of fines were issued for refusing to wear masks. More than half of the deaths in Australia due to covid19 are from Victoria.
SO. is it arrogance or ignorance that causes people to disobey safety rules / laws?

From what I've seen here in the US, it's the "I'm healthy so it can't happen to me" mentality.
In my case, I go to work, come home and, with very few exceptions, my only other destinations are gas(petrol) stations and the grocery store for food. The wife goes out even less since she works from home. We have close friends we haven't seen or even talked to since February as many of them are in the higher risk groups(many are over the age of 70, some are past 80) and are doing everything they can to stay safe. Needless to say, I can't blame them for isolating themselves as much as possible. Then again, there are others that have their groups they can't live without so they are often out and about together. Just a matter of time until they all end up on the "Covid 19 positive rosters"

My wifes bosses husband died from vivid last night. He got it from her,2Drs. And 3 employees got it two are still very sick. Luckily my wife started working from home a month ago

Hello Mikey...
Just getting out of the hospital from covid.....Had it about 4 weeks total.
Did not think that I was going to survive it and this was in one of the top-of-the-line hospitals for covid treatment in this area. Had double viral pneumonia from it. I still can only walk about 30 feet at the time. I will be on supplemental oxygen for the next forseeable future?????
That is some TOUGH ****!!!!!!

From the comments......There are some seriously mis-informed people on this site.

We have a customer at work he’s a specialist in Lung therapy. Had 2 healthy 21 year old men get COVID and passed away. It treats everyone different. It’s fun and games until happens to you or your family.

Wow! Sure glad you made it Charles, scary stuff for sure.

Bad numbers yesterday, 142K new infections and 1500 dead:

Just curious how many IW members have been diagnosed with Covid 19?????
Seeing an insane numbers of cases here in the ER where I work Terry, but no Oakland Wolverine club members that I am aware of. Lots of cases but patients are not as sick as they were in the spring. Looks like the vaccine will be out soon, so hopefully things will get better for next year. Stay strong, stay safe.

After the last two weeks my family has an insight to reality as my son (44) my wife (66) and myself (72) have all tested positive for Covid-19. All are experiencing moderate symptoms and prognosis is good. We have been in self quaranteen and should be clear to resume life in another week. I am disappointed on the lack of understanding out there. I guess I am fortunate that I am on the better side of statistics but when you have a loaded gun pointed at you, it gets real. And I am not 100% sure it is over. Stay safe and be vigilant. It can be you.

Ya, I don't want to "test the waters" myself, especially when I've been told my immune system is weakened from past illness.

The long term effects sound quite scary also, reduced lung capacity, kidney, heart issues as well as "brain fade".

Stay safe my friends, another day of record numbers. 183, 625 new cases yesterday:

yeah, I'm of compromised health category (as I am paralyzed, with compromised respiratory function). Being in Los Angeles I am very much on guard, especially as of last week (seeing the latest reports). This virus is nothing to play around with. You just don't know how one will react to it (until they get it). I don't want to take that chance
