John,
When can we set up?
Thanks, John

Please refer to the race instructions on RCRACINGEVENTS.COM You can come in starting on Wednesday to setup, however open water is ONLY Thursday from 12 noon until about 6. The chase boats will not be in the water until late Thursday am. The lake will NOT be open for any boat running until the open water period. The club is looking to provide some additional open water time on Friday morning.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

Upon conferring with the CMB club leadership the race will continue. With COVID many racers are still not attending races and with the recent drops, the number of entries are low for this race but the race will go on with some changes and are:

* Classes with less than 3 entries will be cancelled with refunds given at the race. Those low entry classes need help to run so if you have some boats in those classes dust them off and get them entered to make the class(es).

* Some open water time is being looked at for Friday morning. The club will determine how long at the race on Friday am and should be announced on Thursday afternoon. That will push back the actual race start time to later Friday morning.

* The 2 twin classes, gas and nitro - the gas twin class has only 2 present entries. Will attempt to contact all racers in the 2 classes to allow a combining of the 2 into one Twin Rigger class. so all boats can run in the race. In past Fall Nationals races we had a final twin championship heat with the top 3 nitro and 3 gas twins running for the twin championship trophy. This could be for all 4 or 5 heats and should be more fun to run and watch. No more than 6 boats in each heat.

* It is expected the race will be increased to 5 rounds instead of the usual 4 rounds. Time and weather will determine IF it can be done but the club is planning on it for now.

* The club is asking for all in attendance to be flexible with the schedule, the weather (remember we are in hurricane season along the coast) and behave accordingly. This is a hobby and sport and not life and death. Let fun be had for all. No doubt that racers will need help for a pitman in their heats so be kind to help each other to maintain a reasonable pace.

I just checked rcracingevents again, it covers open water and other information but nothing is mentioned about when we can setup.

John,

You are correct, the initial draft did have more info and don't know why it dropped. The landowner prefers arrival to start on Wednesday as there is no open water until Thursday noon. However he is gracious and should allow an earlier arrival to set up but follow the directions for campers and RV's on RCRACINGEVENTS. If they are not followed you will be required to move. Only canopies are permitted along the lake side.

Hope that is clear enough for all. The club thanks all that are coming to support the race. It will be a easier paced race than any in the past. We hope that 2022 races will have the COVID craziness (it wiped out the 2020 race) in the rear view mirror for all and this race will return to a pre-imminent level.

Really bummed I can't make the race but date was set for mom's final estate closeout meeting (been dealing with it for almost 2 years now) before we even got acknowledgment the race was gonna happen at all. Hopefully 2022 will bring us better circumstances and better communications of race date and such, it's been tough for everyone not just CMB club.

To all - the traditional CMB Fall Nationals race has been the Columbus Day holiday weekend in October, which is 7, 8 & 9 October 2022. Please make plans for it next year.

Don - you shall be missed for sure.

Tyler,

All of the classes shown on RCRACINGEVENTS at this moment will run. Those that did not have enough entries were removed a few days ago.
