I would think the sound bouncing off of metal would be louder versus the c/f.

No. And all metal and ent the same. Type of metal and thickness matters. Carbon is harder then aluminum and probably steel pipes. And maybe thinner. That’s why I say wrap would significantly lower the sound.
mom not quite sure how much real difference there is in the aluminum vs carbon as I ran the aluminum with wrap. And it too quiets it.
wrap on loud pipes not as much because the majority of sound is coming out the back.
