Getting the residue off is a pain in the rear! Anyone have an easy way to remove it, I have tried gas,alky,lacquer thinner etc. nothing seems to work very well?

Don have you tried mineral spirits, paint thinner? Or virgin oil, extremely rare now days.

Try using goo gone.Come in a 3 oz bottle.This is what we use for stickers on micro scopes.

Heat it with a hair dryer and roll off as much as you can then trichloroethylene seems to work the best on any remaining adhesive.

Try regular lighter fluid and a scotch bright pad.

Just roll it up. Rubbing wiping and various liquids makes a mess.

Use pure nitro(a great solvent) to wipe off remaining residue

I use WD-40 on anything sticky, it hasn't failed yet.

Find some teenagers with thumbs of steel and roll it off.
