Coming up on 8 weeks in and I realize I'll need my engine to mock up the stuffing tube in the tub so that can wait. Onto the next thing: rear shoes!

Let's just say I had to do some pretty creative tricks with masking tape to pull these stringers into place.

Added some structure to the radio box.
I can't be the only one who lays parts out to see how far they've come, right?!

Just about 2 months worth of building in so far, getting tank section ready for supports, which means more clamps and epoxy.

In the radio box, I've opted for removable aluminum servo mounts on a reinforced floor section near the rear bulkhead. This should not only make the floor more sturdy in case I whack a branch or buoy and the rudder servo takes a hit, but also allow for a much shorter, more rigid rod

Don't worry, this 2-56 rod is another mock-up piece. Will be installing something much stronger later

Mario and Rene...
Beautiful builds....and the attention to detail is spot on....have you thought about one of these but hand held for the foam....they are super simple to make with the leftover wood that came with your kit....plus you can use a 9v battery to power it...

Yes, I've looked into one of those. I haven't quite gotten that far as yet, I have one or two more steps on the sponsons before I may need one. Good thinking though! I'm with ya!

So the last sheet is on the sponson. I used toothpicks to hold the sheet in place. After the epoxy is cured, i trimed the picks und sand it flush.
Now i glue the ridepads in place.

The next step is the installation of the engine with the existing mounting holes.

Today I had time to test the motor position. I made a motor mount from scrap wood. I had to cut out the tube side for the carburetor. Now is all aligned and I can make the motor mount from aluminum.
