This scale hydro started life as a Dumas Circus Circus kit. It was a Christmas gift to my son about 7 years ago that was intended to teach him how to frame up a scale hydroplane. It ended up back at dads shop and was highly modified with the hope of it becoming a competitive race boat. Cowlings and wings from Steve at the RC Boat Company, Hardware and engine mounts from Bill Brandt at Rattlesnake RC, CMB 67 green-head finished by Joe Wiebelhaus, turn fin Virginia Craftsman, graphics from Mike at Thunderboat Graphics, running surfaces 1/16" carbon plate; isohedral at 3 degrees and 5 degrees on the recovery surface (shamelessly copied from Scott Meyers). Paint is automotive urethane thinned 50% with reducer and sprayed at 35psi with a Grex 0.7mm fan-cap airbrush. Cleared PPG shopline urethane and color sanded 1500-2000-2500-3000 and then buffed with Mequires microfiber pads on a 3 inch DA polisher. Will it run? Hope so, will find out soon.
