Hello fellow racers!
The Badger Model Boat Club announces that we WILL be holding our Spring Opener race to get the season started. Wisconsin has opened up from stay-at-home restrictions. We realize Covid-19 fears are still abundant so we have decided to follow ALL local guidelines and more. We want to emphasize that this race will depend on YOU! We will not and cannot demand anything but with your cooperation, we can race safely!
First, to start with, this race will kick off the Badger High Point Series AND the District 4 High point series! The winner of the Badger High Point Series will win a nice trophy or plaque, and hopefully, a boat kit. The exact prizes will be announced later this season. No fee to enter, just show up with your boats and score points. Your highest class points will count for the season. No need to attend every race but it sure would help!
As for being safe, we WILL check your temperature (touch-less thermometer) at the gate both during open water and race day. If you have a fever over 100 degrees, you will not be allowed entry. Full refunds will be given if you paid in advance. Next, we will limit boats per heat to 4 or 5 max. This will allow for safe spacing on the drivers stand. Hand sanitizer and disinfecting sprays will be available. We will run an A/B pit to keep things flowing. We will suggest no sharing of tools/equipment and suggest you limit your visitors to your tent area. We will suggest that you wear a face mask on the drivers stand if you are a pit man and of course, we suggest you follow social distancing of 6 feet wherever you can.
Remember, we will also be holding our FireCracker Challenge July 11th and 12th where we are sponsoring a SuperSport Mono Challenge. Race both days, 5 rounds and the top 6 boats will compete in a 10 lap feature. The winner will walk away with a brand new Zenoah 26cc stock gas motor.
The Badgers want this race to be safe but for everybody to have fun and go home healthy! So go to RCRacingEvents.com and get registered!
