I have a like new miss vegas that had a bad super tiger engine in it somehow it had a bent crankshaft so I picked up a os .21 xz-m and thought about putting it in the boat. I was wondering if anyone has installed a .21 using the stock motor mount or do i need to change it . If anyone has a picture of a vegas with a .21 I would appreciate it. If I could find a os cv 18 or another super tiger that would be easiest just cant seem to locate one. Thanks Dave

Dave,

A decent 21 will overpower the miss vegas quite easily. I would stick with a .15 or .18 size motor with a little less power. The motor mounts will need to be modified to fit the "big block" crankcase pattern. I don't have any pictures, but years ago a club member did this conversion and the boat would constantly flip.

I was messing with setting it in there the other day and it looks like it would be a lot of modifying to make it work. I would have to cut the bottom of the boat out as well just to get the starter belt on it. I will just have to keep my eye out for a motor.

K&B still offers a marine .18 that should bolt right in. I am sure there are other options as well on ebay.

The second issue of the boat (the Miss Vegas) runs very well with a 21.. the miss Vegas Duce (3rd issue)... not so much.. (that boat was designed around lower power).

The Miss Elam was issue one..

I am going to be setting up a duce with a 21, I will take pics as I go, the duce has built up sponson bottoms, so it get a lot of air under the hull, just need to set it up accordingly

The Duse had a higher tunnel roof and steeper angle of attack. The changes were to take advantage of the lower power of the 18 size "budget motors"
