If you going to use a regulator on a LiPo you are wasting your time and should be buying LiFe packs instead and forget the regulator. You would be way ahead of the game.

Not many servo's that are straight 4.8 these days.
99.9% of any that can take are 4.8 - 6 volt meaning safe for a 5 cell NiMh pack they are designed to use is the same voltage fully charged as a LiFe pack is so it is perfectly safe also.

Life are not like Lipo where the full capacity is a much higher voltage than nominal pack voltage..

A 7.4 volt servo really means it will be fine with 8.6 volt because that is what a 7.4 2S lipo is fully charged.

hi again. I'm looking at upgrading my servos and Rx battery to 7.4v lipo. I am getting 7.4v servos but dont know if my Rx can handle the 7.4v. Any ideas?

depending on the servos you have.. not all are 100% happy with 6.6V.

We were replying to the OP's question. New 7.4 volt servos.

No regulator needed for LiPo so sure do not need to worry about LiFe.
