Another possible option to keep the rods from slipping in the brass is to drill a pair of 1/16" (or appropriate diameter) holes through the brass and carbon on the inside of the the tub and use some 1/10 car body clips through the brass and carbon. That way if you need to replace the booms you can pull them out easily.

I would look real close to the big end of the rod were the bushing is the hole in the rod.

I seen the void in the alum rod were the bushing is.I didn't know it was keyed there.Just the tool maker in me for seeing that.Sorry for bring it up.

Looks good on the water, I wonder if the 2317 will make it
even better? The roostertail looked kinda choppy in one of
the videos, so I wonder if a little more blade length would
help that prop wash flutter? You may need to round the tips
a touch. Definitely competitive right out of the gate.
