I am currently developing a range of props for .21 Hydros. Testing will commence this weekend with my Firefighter, and also several other experienced racers here.

Diameter of 44mm, and Pitch will start at 2.5 inches, going up in .1 inch increments to 3.0. higher pitch props may be added in the future if anyone has the power! :D

Pics are in my Gallery.

ken,

Is there a reason you are making them with such a small dia??

I do like you are making them with little tongue area.

chris

Ken

i agree bit small diameter, i would make them about 46mm-47mm

and then boaters can reduce dia to suit,

=wider market, =sell more props...

keep up the good work, talk to you over weekend

regards Aaron

44MM Dia was what many wanted. Certainly no reason i cant increase diameter.

Spent the arvo testing with my Firefighter.21, CMB LS 21, 40% Nitro, SPP Outboard pipe.

Very happy with how they performed. No speeds were recorded, Best for my setup was the 4427.

Will get more opinions in the next few weeks once othes have run them.

err... outboard pipe? ... explains the 40%...?

best of luck with your props.

have seen previous castings.. impressive.

personally after larger dia props tho...47+48 x 3.4+

many US prop suppliers Ive tried are awfully ssslllooooowwwwwww.........

an AU source would be great, if delivery was fast and reliable

Are you designing these new fromscratch or starting with another prop and tweaking it? Wondered. Many look a lot like other props on the market. It looks like the 6 bladed prop says ABC on the hub.

Tony, the hub has KRE on it. ( Ken Retallick Engineering)

Mostly own design, a few are modified from other props, Some may have same blade shape as other brands, but with the blade intersecting the hub at different angles for different pitch. More again are versions that are not made, Eg V series props with 2 or 4 blades.

Cheers, Ken

I received a few sample props from Ken to test on my FF21 / NR.

They look very good! Hoping to test them this Sunday if all goes to plan. Will compare them against my current props of choice - cupped H7 and cupped / cut 1450 @ 46mm.

The 46mm dia. x 2.9"pitch looks very interesting!

Tim.

Ken,

If you are looking to make a real nice propeller, try a 47mm w/1.6 pitch ratio.

We are trying to get Tom @ Octura to cast some, but nothing from IL yet. :D Once

you find a good design, you should cast them in Stainless Steel so they stay strong

once they are thinned out. I have a few new designs that I am playing with currently,

if you would like I will put a few in the mail. Need your address?

Good Luck,

Mark Sholund

Mark,

One of the props Ken has sent me is really close to those specs. 46.0mm w/ 1.6 pitch ratio = 2.89"

I'm really looking forward to trying it this weekend. They are reasonably thin - as thin as any of the props I've got from your good self. Has the ears removed also.

Tim.

Tim...what happed to the H4...now the red-headed step child? Let me know how the testing goes!

Hope all is well,

Rick

Ken,

If I sent you a prop that i have done could you copy it..

that way i don't have to do all the bending.. just sharp and balance and go??

is that possible for you to make?

chris

it is the prop that helped me win the us-1.

it is a morfidited 1450.. when you see it it is a weird weird blade..

p.m me your address and we will go from there.
