    Another Q Sport Hydro

I should have started this instead of jacking Dave's thread. Here's my Q Sport Hydro, an Aeromarine Shadow with a 1527/1Y, 6S1P/6600mAh, Hydra ICE240 and ABC1914. Weighs ten pounds. I originally built it for SAW racing, but never did, just rigged it for ovals. I haven't GPS'd it in a race...

    1/8th Scales at the HOTMBC

Today we had two 1/8th Scale Unlimiteds racing each other. One was the 2006 NAMBA National Champion the SloMo IV. The other was the Taggart-designed TomyAnn. Both were Unlimiteds from the 1950s. It was great fun to watch them! .

    Aeromarine Sport 21 or 40

Has anyone been running an Aeromarine Sport 21 hull? I've been running mine as a P Sport Hydro in FE heat racing and have been pleasantly surprised at how well it performs. The botom design is pure 1980s, but so far at least mine has not only shown great speed (mid-50s in a short-course heat...

Aeromarine Sport 21 and Sport 40

Has anyone been running an Aeromarine 21 hull - FE or nitro? I've been racing mine as a P Sport Hydro and have been pleasantly surprised at how well it performs. The botom design is pure 1980s, but so far at least mine has not only shown great speed (50s with conservative setup) but also an...

    Aquacraft UL-1 RTR Hydro

I can't believe that no one has even mentioned the new Aquacraft UL-1 RTR Hydro. I watched this boat run at the SAW event in Los Angeles last month, and it appears to be a real winner. It is electric, but it ran in the low 40s out of the box with LiPos, and with a bit of strut adjustment and a...

    Who Needs a Neu....

The two fastest oval P-boats in the Houston club are Jim's Phil Thomas SS21 rigged by Buaas and a scratrch-built wooden round nose called the Rampage designed and built by Tom. Both run 4S2P, Jim a Neu 1515/1Y and Tom a 9XL Hacker. Now some would automatically say that the Neu-powered boat...

An Electric Primer for Fuel Guys

I am delighted that more and more fuel racers are looking at and participating on the electric forum, but like any new aspect of the hobby there is a learning curve before the fuel racer understands about FE (fast electric). I started R/C with fuel boats many years ago so I have a basic...

    Prather Records

Guys, does anyone here know if Prather LapCats ever set any IMPBA records? I know that Leecraft hulls have dominated the books for a decade, but the Prather hulls were rather popular in the 80s and 90s. By records I mean SAW or timed oval. Thanks! Jay T
