    Need help!

Great motor. Beast mode. Should turn a lot of prop once you get it figured out. Not legal for scale in either organization. 10s for sure. Did I miss which cat it was going in?

    ILLEGAL or LEGAL ????

Canard rigger is legal. Ken Joye built a number of them back in the early 2000's. Extremely cool to look at but never really competed with what we all know as riggers. Maybe with brushless and lipo it could work.

    Race canopy/tent

I bought my Euromax with the surround. Nice when you need it. They also sell a gutter looking thing you can use to link two canopy together. The gutter carries water away from the gap if it rains. Pretty cool.

    Buoys

Atlanta had some big foam blocks for their offshore pin on the other side of the lake. Think lane 6,017. Being big doesn't help me a bit. I still can't get around the danged things. Of course they're in another zip code so.....

    Q Mono?

Be sure to ask Jerry from Seaducer for a recommendation. He races electric too and will likely have a solid setup for you.

    Buoys

I've made them out of all kinds of stuff. 5" pool noodles with PVC pipe, layers of blue insulation with string, milk jugs, soda bottles, 2 part polyurethane foam with a ginormous eye bolt in the middle (oh man! don't do this). I've run on balloon courses too. They're great until somebody...

    best solder

I always use a torch. Just a butane pencil is plenty. One of our guys is using this in his limited boat. https://www.amainhobbies.com/rcproplus-rme-6808-pro-s.t.-motor-connection-set-6-rpprme6808stpro/p-quaztseq6zzxactz Seem to work. They're too small for P sport. Just checked.

    Welcome to the Dark Side

Tyler is right. The water will take the path of least resistance. Which ever path has more resistance will starve for cooling. For a limited setup you wont be pulling that many amps so heat shouldn't be too crazy. Perfectly safe to cool everything in series. Motor then ESC or ESC then motor.

    Q Hydro Build.

I have a setup board cut from a hunk of scrap corian that a buddy gave me. Works killer for building and setup. I take it to the pond some times. With a little weight and some clamping you can build almost anything square.

    Understanding FE power VS IC

We tried the RTR thing like Tyler suggested. Eliminates the "something for everyone" factor. Vets get bored and quit running them. Then you have a new guy show up wanting to get started. He buys the RTR and there are no heats for him. Mic, I'm not being obtuse but you aren't thinking that a...

    P Limited Hydro IMPBA.

A wise man once told me that just because I made the most noise did not mean I was right. Well......just because one has the most power and the ear of the BOD doesn't make him right either. Another idea........stop listening to anyone for a minute. Ignore the rhetoric and look to the racers...

    P Limited Hydro IMPBA.

I'm not offended Fred. This is good discussion and I'm glad you're thinking about it at all. The limited classes were never intended to be "beginner" classes. I'm not sure where this myth originated. I've been racing FE for over 20 years now. I think. Somewhere around there. I own boats...

    P Limited Hydro IMPBA.

Just thought of this and I type hella fast. An even tougher argument is this.........what do we need P for? I mean if it's hard to field heats, aren't the racers telling us something with their participation? I'm a full P fan by the way. Whole different can of worms. Both organizations...

    P Limited Hydro IMPBA.

If the classes had "run they're course" then why are they still the most populated electric classes at every event that offers electric classes? I suppose the real answer is that it already does gain racers P doesn't. It gains racers because it's pretty simple. You don't have to be a physicist...

    P Limited Hydro IMPBA.

By the way, there was a LOT LOT LOT of arguing about limited sport hydro and limited sport offshore motors when we were running brushed 700 motors. Where we screwed those rules up was stating exactly which motors were legal by brand and model numbers. This should sound familiar since we...

    P Limited Hydro IMPBA.

That's been true for well over a decade. In fairness, it's always been recognized.....just not by the IMPBA rule book. I've not been to an event (NAMBA or IMPBA running NAMBA rules) that didn't have multiple limited classes since 2008. Prior to 2008 back to maybe 2003 or so the most popular...

    P Limited Hydro IMPBA.

Yep. Got it. Ignore what the racers want and what they have asked for. Go with what the BOD will allow. Never let the racers decide for themselves. Hold the line!!! Anybody getting it yet?

    P Limited Hydro IMPBA.

That's just it Mike. Length x width. Took all the grey out completely. It couldn't be any easier to verify just two dimensions. It's much like a 34" mono is a 34" mono. Compare a Huff Orca to a carbon fiber Raider or one of Oxidean's mono hulls. Entirely different beasts. All competitive...

    P Limited Hydro IMPBA.

Best of luck. I thought about proposing it every cycle but making it no longer my problem was better for me personally. Maybe if it's not from me it will be better received but I doubt it.
