    nitro engine tachometer

Personally I would never use a Hall Effect Sensor as they require disturbing the rotating assembly of you drive system. when I built turbine engines I always used a Banner optical HIGH speed sensor/counter. I was able to measure 143,000 rpm's. This was around 2001. No videos but detailed...

    1/4" square cable?

Machining a cable would weaken it as it is cutting strands of the cable. I agree that they are machine pressed. I purchased a boat ( all new and never in the water). The flex drive snapped off at the engine coupling within 30 seconds. I know the builder tried to weld the cable at the strut end...

Epoxy clear over rattle can finish?

If you are using a metallic color and feel you will need to scuff it before the 2K, I would apply a coat of the same clear over the color. This will prevent the possibility of cutting through a layer and the metallic appearing as though you cut through a coat. Interesting on the timeline from...

Epoxy clear over rattle can finish?

Also store in a cool environment. Heat does speed the catalyst process.

Epoxy clear over rattle can finish?

The advantage to what you have done is you can mix only what you need. A gallon of clear and activator is a LOT cheaper than a 2K product clear. You can clear coat at least 2 full size cars with the clear you purchased. It will take a lot of 2k to do the same and cost more. What you paid for the...

Epoxy clear over rattle can finish?

Sorry, Make sure that your color coat is cured, dried or hardened. The urethane will pretty much cover any type of rattle can paint that is cured.

    new JAE 21 GT

Tim, You had my head spinning for a second. I saw your comment in my email. I thought I had been calling Jim by the wrong name. I was thinking that boat doesn't look exactly like the boat I purchased. It was a long day at work getting ready for a new fire alarm installation inspection, on...

WTB: CMB 45 and CMB 67

I agree with the lean condition. I should have omitted that. I blend my own fuel so I know what in in the tank. However the overheating in my humble opinion should not have cause the severity of the damage described. Send a boat in the water rich, it will come back. Put it it lean and you will...

WTB: CMB 45 and CMB 67

I may be wrong, but I was told that if these engines get hot or lean they will simply shut down (not advisable) before the type of damage you have described occurs. Anyone? Is this true? I have CMB and Novarossi's in the stable and have had no problems. All boats have a remote controlled HSN...

    OPS .40 Marine Engine

Thank You Brad and Patrick. I would have thought the carb would turn to any degree as most of my other engine do. There have been a very few where you could not. (the carb was notched for the pinch bolts, the sleeves were not "beveled" on the ends that oppose each other. They simply squeezed the...
