    Zippkits JAE 91/101 with CMB 90 evo2

Thanks Brad. I'm going to be traveling for work, so instead of putting the boat in storage I thought I'd move it on to someone else to get some use out of it. Zippkits does a great job with their kits, I'm sure I'll build another one in the future.

    Zippkits JAE 91/101 with CMB 90 evo2

JAE 91/101 built from a Zipkitts kit. Sponsons and skis are coated with graphite epoxy. The ski isn't glued down so you can attach with doublestick tape or glue it in place. Engine bay, bait box and sponson sides have carbon tissue glassed in place. Strut, rudder and turnfin holes have...

    Jae .91 build

It isn't hard to build a mount out of UHMW BTW, the Zippkits JAE 91 is significantly different in dimensions than the free plans. I summarized them in this thread https://www.intlwaters.com/threads/jae-91-kit.74491/page-2

    Head Clearance discussion

It is helpful to have an understanding of the purpose of the squish band as well as understand that the squish clearance cannot be addressed by itself, it needs to be considered in relation to the head volume, fuel and squish area. The purpose of the squish band is to create a high velocity...

Source for 90 degree pressure fittings?

Look them up on ebay. I picked up a 10 pack of the 5mm ones and they seem to work fine on pipes

    Air Flow

If you have experience making molds it would be fairly easy to make a mini naca duct and glass it in place. Dimensions aren't super critical and they look cool.

CMB 90 - Geared or Direct Drive

The theory is a larger prop at a lower rpm is more efficient than a smaller prop at higher rpm, and it is that efficiency that is supposed to allow for additional speed. The caveat is you introduce additional parasitic drag into the driveline from the gears and hence you have less horsepower to...

    The beginning of a twin

Even with dual rx's, you're still relying on a single transmitter.

    Wire Drive Experiment

No reason to scratch build a collet when you can get precision ground collets from machinery supply houses at quite reasonable cost. A DA300 or ER 11 would be about the right size, just need to machine a body to screw onto the crankshaft.

    Wire Drive Experiment

Thanks for sharing your results. Another consideration with wire drive is it has less angular momentum and less mass, so it will accelerate more quickly. Same effect as a lighter flywheel.
