Mike, Is there a way to tell the older ones that you have to rebind form the newer ones that you don't.

Yep, we have several of them here at work they can turn a 4' x 8' sheet of 0.250" Lexan into quarter inch pieces in minutes. We have one that they put hunks of plastic 2" thick into it and it eats them up.

Yep, I had an old K&B 3.5 outboard that started more than once just by attaching the glow driver. ( it was pretty wore out not much compression left)
