Hello everyone...I have just gotten out of the grab and go boats, or so I think? But I just built a Prather Spitfire I with a K&B 3.5 on the back...I was wondering a few things. What Should I do to keep the overall of the motor...The onlything I know of is after run oil, and Lube the shaft...But I was wondering how and when to lube? And also is there a class for these or would they be with the other .21 hydros and if so, am I gonna be slower? And last but not least...How to make it go faster??? I was looking at the Prather #8400 K&B 3.5 Mod kit to add on 10-15 mph if it even does that...So what do you think? I take all kinds of input...Thanks!

Lube it after your done for the day,oil the shaft every now and then(every couple of runs) and use the mod kit or get the exhaust throttle from Joe at 707 products and do the mods. Just keep it simple....

Our club runs OB hydro a number of times a year. As often as we can! I run a prather spit and its a good boat. I would leave the motor stock and not use the prather mod kit. Its not that it does not work well but if you ever want to but the motor on a tunnel you will have to buy a new lower unit. You will have good performace with the stock motor. You can see pictures of your OB boats on www.impba4.com. Dig around in there you will find them!!

Thanks for the input...Do I need to lube the driveshaft before running for the first time, or is it pre-lubed from the factory??
