Don,

I have quite a few pictures that I just ran across of Jim and
the Hobart days. I was lucky to get a few of his boats and
motors.

Thanks For Sharing,

Mark Sholund

Can’t tell you how much l miss Jim and Diane. We would speak about everything under the sun but always ended up talking about boats and how to make the better! When ever they came to L.A. for a boat race Jim would pack up a complete dinner for a Friday night BBQ. He was a great cook and loved to BBQ!🥲

Jimmy was a special man...we raced each other often...he loved my boys and was a great friend and mentor...I miss Jim and Diane alot

Yes what a guy. One day when I was running P LTD Sport hydro and I was the last one running. Jim talked about what it took to have a perfect running Sport hydro. Not many people could make you feel so good. Foever miss you Jim. Diane was really nice to me allways.

I miss old Jim we would talk two/three times a week on the phone.Jim would say pull the string tighter.

I was honored to be the MC at Jim's Memorial Service. I talked to him the day before he passed. He was concerned he had purchased a brand of tonic water I liked for gin and tonic. As has been mentioned previously, Jim was a stickler for details. We had made arrangements to have dinner and spend the evening with Jim and Diane in Fremont. We on our way back to Washington after visiting our daughter and son-in-law in Irvine. We were having lunch at Bubba Gumps in Monterey when I read the email sent by Al Waters regarding Jim's passing. I called Diane and said we would understand if she would rather cancel the dinner. She very much wanted us to come for dinner. She said Jim had purchased all the meats and other dinner items. Diane prepared a wonderful dinner. We told stories and cried. Two weeks later we returned to Fremont for the Memorial Service. Sadly, Diane has also passed. Diane contributed greatly to administrative tasks for NAMBA District 9.

Jim was a mentor to us all here in District 9 and is truly missed. I am proud to be continuing his and Ray Pellerino's legacy racing one of Ray's personal boats to this day.
