The FS or FF use he same clip on antenna as the higher end Futaba RXs.

No.. no aircraft RXs will work with this system.

I love this bs . Don't use this reciever , don't use that reciever etc . Make sure you use the extended antenna ...LOL .This really solidifies the phony notion that 2.4 is a superior to 75 mghz for our boats . Not directed at you Grim . Just totally pissed off at whomever started this stupid BS about banning 75 at NAMBA races BUT !!!! IITS OK TO RUN AT NAMBA LAKES BUT JUST NOT IN COMPETITION!!!!!! WTF ARE YOU TELLING ME ?????? Total BS , PROVE ME WRONG!!

I've been using the 617fs for a long time now with zero issues Tom.
No extended antenna and the antennas are inside the radio box, not one single issue. Nothing against 75 but I'd never go back.

The point is that it's not ok for NAMBA to race with 75 but with IMPBA it is still recognized as a valid system , which it is .

I agree 100% it doesn't make sense other than they won't need to impound radios at races.

Radio impounds have been self service down here for 20 years . No issues I can remember
The AMA that has 10 times the members still recognizes 72 mghz as a valid system......
Agreed. What a waste of perfectly good radio systems. 30+ years of near 100% dependability down the tubes with little to no justification. Futaba isnt the only manufacturer of DSM systems by a long shot......not everyone that runs a boat use a Futaba system...........no problems?? Try a Flysky DSM in a nitro powered race boat and see what happens......will we govern manufacturers next?

I DO want to help when and if I can. In the end the systems are really no different then the old ones from a usage stand point.. you run your antennas out of the box now.. so thats easy. Non Issue..

Air systems are not compatible with surface systems anyway.. not then not now..

Non issue..

No impound is nice.. I had a buddy (Kenny Stang RIP buddy) that had a radio tossed to the ground by a person in the impound... the guy in the back tossed it to the guy near the front.. YES. tossed it and the other guys missed.. and it trashed it. But.. I have only heard of one other time a radio was broke in the impound.

Again. happy to help if I can!

Grim

Like your glow plug wrench.. just pull the radio out and use it.

Question , what makes an air reciever an air reciever and a surface reciever a surface one in the 2.4 world . Of course with 72 and 75 there were distinct differences . Is FASST not FASST in 2.4 ?

I believe it was the way the signal was delivered was the difference.
Now i believe its just a matter of radio and rec.
Compatability limiting you to which rec. And transmitter.

Flying a plane on a wheel radio might be fun... I think Grim stated there was no longer limits on either....
IE: no more surface/flying distinction between the two...

Might need three hands to do it though! 🤔
