They sure were!!
First 20 mono I ever owned had a .21 OPS side port motor in it. I can't remember how many club races, events I won with it..even went to the internats twice with it!
The motor was at least 5 years old, and I had put in new bearings and a RPM rod, but it still had the original piston and sleeve in it, and it was so loose I could push the piston out of the top of the sleeve!
Took a lap or two to get warmed up, but it was still running great when I gave it away to a youngster starting out in model boating!
If no one had bought this one by the end of the day , I was going to buy it just for nostalgia sake!!
