there are a lot of used motors out there for sale, all my motors are zenoahs and they work well, if you get a used one i would say replace the wrist pin, bearing , clips and a piston ring. these are high wear items in a zen and when these parts let go its bad. if you can do the work yourself its maybe 25 bucks in parts, also carbs in my opinion gum up often if you dont do regular maintenance on them, i have an exchange program with my engine builder for carbs. namba dist 11 facebook has some threads on this
Ok cool yes I could do all that myself thanks I appreciate all the info john

It's members only, just apply and they will let you in. This is a big boat, how fast are you thinking? I run a QD 70cc in mine to get in the mid 60's.
Heck mike if I could get it in the mid 60s I think I'd be happy with that.

Mid sixties with a big mono is an accomplishment ......prop and setup , weight are all very critical as you probably know .
Yes I do you can have the baddest motor out there but if havnt got proper set up n prop your defeating the purpose.

It's a70cc twin, they stacked the old 35 singles together as many as 4 at a time. They are old, heavy and expensive, but they make 14hp.

Hey John I just want fast I'm a nitro guy & this is my first gas boat so I'm new to the gas seen so just trying to get opinions on what I should run I've got my eye on a 35cc zenoah redline promod motor & a few others but I'm just trying to see what's out there & maybe get a good deal on an extra that sombody has got sitting around & not using.thanks mp
im not sure what speed you are expecting out of that apache but they are a good scale boat but not really a fast boat, some have different opinions about how fast is fast, you hear about some apache owners getting all kind of speeds out of there boats but its a big hull and they have there limits, what im trying to say is you spend the extra money for a big horse motor and its not going to go that much faster, the 56 apache is a big rough water boat, its not a gas rigger

Hey John ya it is a big boat & yes you are right it's not a rigger them things are rockets.im not trying to set a saw record lol.i just don't want to be a big slow boat.im a nitro guy myself & this is my first gas boat & big one at that I don't know the performance of all these different gas motors like I do nitro & just looking for somthing that's gonna push this beast along .

i built one for a fellow club member that i put a mod 26 zenoah in and with a g30 prop it went about 55 - 60 mph, it was as fast as the other g1 monos but did not corner as well as the other g1 boats, i am currently building a speedfreak 57 apache with a 30.5 zen, a big block with a 1.6 mm crank. ran it once with this setup and i would say it was a 60mph setup, cornered decent

I would be happy with that so I've had my eye on a zenoah 34.9cc redline mod motor according to stats plenty of horsepower & torque in your opinion is this a good powerplant for this boat

Also in your opinion what would be more reliable 30.5 or 34.9

It has a mod 1048 carb...I wasn't selling with the mount but if you want them I can throw it in. I was at $430 shipped mods were done by bh hanson...I'm open to a reasonable offer

i was never a fan of the 32 zenoah as this is what that 34.9 i would imagine started out as, the 32 is a totally different motor than the 26 or the 29, the engine builders have been working on the 32 for some time now, never ran one and havnt got beat by one, my opinion stick with the 26 to 29 zenoahs, for your needs i would go in this direction
