So I always wanted to do the 1999 version of the U-2 Freddie's Club and back in 2019 I scored the cowling I needed (the open deck cowl version wouldn't work). Then I hooked up with Mike at ML and found an Extreme kit that he could make some tweeks on to get me going. Fast forward to now and it just hasn't happened, my shop time is far less than it used to be. I already have way too much on my plate that has to be done, re-done or built (I still haven't finished my 'glass Miss Rock, been ready for primer since last winter) to do this one so gonna make someone a sweet deal. This will do the MHR #9302 U-2 from 1999 on when deck was filled in, front spar and full canard wing added. (Freddie's Club, Trendwest, Chrysler/Jeep, etc). It will require further mods to do it so this is not a ready to assemble ML kit (I have made some base pencil marks for changes) but if you are comfortable with doing some custom work and want something no one else has hear ya go. Includes complete framing kit, 4 sheets of 1.5mm 3ply 48"x 12" high grade plywood (not in pics, for deck & sponson sheeting) two piece fiberglass cowl and a real nice clear lexan windshield. $200 plus postage and it's all yours.

Just so everyone knows the only change on this ML Extreme kit is I had Mike make the trailing edge of sponson vertical (sponsons are built separate from center on the Extreme kits) longer to match specs for the boat I wanted to do (MHR 9302). Simply cut the sponson extension off to match the center section outside vertical and its back to the MHR 9516. Yes I previously built the 9516 Elam so I knew this kit would work well with only a couple changes.

So after spending way too much time driving around looking I custom made a box 49"x13"x9". Shipping is nuts, FedEx wants $71.58, UPS $71.88 and USPS $71.95 Priority and $62.35 retail ground. I know it's the box length killing it as if I eliminate the 48"x12" ply sheeting and go down to 45" long (longest part plus 1") FedEx for example comes down to $45.29 which is still up there.
Fed Ex-
Base rate $32.62
Delivery Area FedEx Ground Delivery Area $4.30
Fuel Surcharge $4.02
Residential surcharge $4.35
Estimated Total $45.29

Shipping rates have skyrocketed since the last time I shipping anything of decent size. This sucks.
