Boaters,

Just a quick shout out for the Saginaw Model Boat Club. We had a season ending fun run yesterday, and I would like to thank all of the Saginaw Model Boat Club members for the nice day we all had racing each other yesterday. I can not thank this great group of model boaters enough for having one of the Best Clubs in District #2. A special thanks to Our Scale Champion Chris Capaldi for making me a great running U-4 1/8th Scale boat. I have not had a scale boat on the water for probably 15 to 20-years and it was so nice to have another one to run now.

Thanks For Reading,

Mark Sholund

Mark,
You drove that boat like you've been driving for quite a while!!! It was good to see you for me, after 20 plus years!
Had a great time helping out where I could, pitman, spotter etc;
The food was great as well! Think maybe next year we shouldn't have so much food??? I don't think anyone got a taste of everything there.
Ended up having to bring home more than half the potato salad that I finally remembered to bring. I was offered all the left overs. Me being single I knew there was far more than I could eat in a week! Caught sight of all the brownies' still left. (!!!!) Mmmm... chocolate... Ralph, you didn't put a dent in it! Didn't take long to decide I did NOT need all that food!
Didn't care for the exploration of the bottom, -or lack of- down past the normally used area to the left in the lake. Knew it was very soft there in that spot. Turned out to be MORE than three times deeper than I thought! Didn't use the scale boat I was retrieving as a life preserver... But, the thought DID cross my mind briefly as I was sinking so fast! Just couldn't bring myself to put a strangle hold on his clean spotless scale boat. Picture a 230 pound guy with T shirt, two sweat shirts, and jean jacket. Under pants, jeans and high top boots, socks, wide eyed fuzz headed old fart sinking so fast less than ten foot from shore! Not to mention the brand new wallet with less than a week old renewed drivers license. Cory, owner of the possible life preserver, didn't even laugh! (Did he see that fleeting thought in my eyes?) I would have laughed!! Lol Didn't catch cold. So that was all I cared about!
