Is it not a NAMBA D3 Rule to cap points races at 175 boats.?

As of this morning there are 185 boats entered by 50 drivers.

Based on the 175-boat rule, the race should be closed resulting in there being no chance for any class running short to make the 5-boat minimum

For those that will NOT be allowed to run, will the contestants eliminated be refunded the $15.00 dollar per boat prior to the event?

27 boats to be refunded for not making the 5 boat rule. ($405)

There are also a few contestants that will drive a significant distance to race with what now may be one class while they have one or more other classes entered that will not be able to race. Spending $$ for lodging gas and food to run fewer classes.
;)
Perfect point. If any of the Race directors are listening????

With a quick count right now if registration closed 33 boats of the 188 won't race. So room for a few yet. Right now you have roughly 33 heats in a round. If you lowered to a 3 boat minimum, you add 7 heats. 40 per round is 80 heats a day. Can be done but makes a pace that's not fun for contest officials. or contestants constantly rushed. Trying to run a marathon of heats does to me not make a better event. I entered 3 classes to support FE and will not be racing as it looks. So be it. Spending $300 to 400 for two days and a 140mile ride one way to race 2 other boats is not worth it. I may show up one day to help out anyway.

It's obvious that if Nitro and FE were fully represented by their drivers there would be no way to run a 2 day race with Gas , Nitro and FE.due to time constraints placed by the number of heats . It's obvious that to have a 2 day race Gas needs It's own race
There are just that many that want to race which is a good thing . To race all 3 disciplines of power it takes 3 days and a larger allowable boat count .

Yes one of MANY rules that the director and his HAND PICKED majority of the board have forced upon the district membership. Only approx 5% of the district membership has a say or a vote. The other 95% are merely peasants.
So while you are showing respect for the rules. Remember how much respect they have for the 95% of the membership that have ZERO say.
Rules only apply for some though. The Broward race clearly stated no parking or reserving spots before Friday morning. however the district director arrived and parked and reserved his spot on Thursday morning. Rules for thee but not for me!

Sounds familiar, huh, Danny. 😉

I was just down there for 2 weeks overseeing a new metal roof put on my place in Punta Gorda. Didn’t expect to have it stress test quite this soon

Just got back from doing hurricane cleanup, the new roof made it but we lost the carport and shed workshop. 18 years ago I saw the aftermath of Charlie, this is much much worse. Glad to see fellow model boaters Glenn and Donna Quarles doing volunteer work with Samaritan’s Purse in Punta Gorda. It’s going to be a long recovery but amazing progress has been made already.

I would like to say on behalf of the Brandon Model Boaters we hope that everyone is fairing well down south after the storm. We know that this hurricane was devistating to some and tragic to others. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families as the aftermath and the clean up continues. We will miss each and everyone of you at the race that are not able to attend. We will continue to kep all of you in our thoughts and prayers as the days go on.
Good luck and hope to see everyone soon.
