Hi all

I am building my 6s Tunnel and am at the stage of working out batteries. My options are as follows and i am looking for the best power delivery possible. i am limited with space and these are the two options i have

Option 1

2 x 3s 8000mah 120c 2p batteries to make 1 x 6s 8000mah 120c 4p battery

Option 2

2 x 6s 4000mah 70c 1p batteries to make 1 x 6s 8000mah 140c 2p battery

Cheers
Neal

Neil,
Either will work. The 120C batteries are marketing BS though and I would suspect of their quality. I prefer to run 2P were possible so if there are not other differences go with the 6S2P.

You will need to have parallel leads on your ESC to use a 2P configuration.

Hi Neil,

What is the size of the tunnel? 6S 8000mAh is a lot of lipo (weight).

You could go for a 5000 or 6000mAh pack as well. If you get 2, you could run them after each other.

I have a 33" tunnel running on a 6S 4500mAh 60C lipo. I am considering a 5000mAh lipo now, to get a little more reserve.

I'm am curious about the tunnel hull. What brand or make is it?

Boat is a hyperformance tx45. I have a neu 1527 and modified castle xlx2 boat is 35" I believe

My friends are running dragon m18s and using 2 x 3s 9500 70c 1p packs but are finding that the lipos are not keeping up at the 3min mark. Motor and esc temps are fine but the batteries really suffer so looking at best options for batteries.

Option one would be a 2P pack.

3S2P in series with 3S2P to make 6S is still a 2P pack.

In series they are like amps and stay the same only your voltage doubles. There is not 4 of any cells being paralleled.

Almost no difference in those 2 options as far as one being greatly superior to the other.

500gr difference is huge. It will greatly affect the performance of your hull. I would go for option 1.

First off 9000ma any way you slice it and a 1527 with 3 minutes run time is not a going to be a max speed setup.
8000ma and 950g. seems a little light and claiming 120C would be a red flag for me. On a Q tunnel I run 2 3700 6S Roaring Tops 70c parallel (1180g.) Is this a fun run or heat race project. Prop down and go slower will increase run time.
