I can’t remember if this was the first or second .45 eagle made. Pic Taken at the ocala race with the new Cmb 45 in it. Andy was working at tidewater and he and Art made it to this race. I ran it prior to this race with a picco exr and won a bunch of races with it. Awesome times. Yeap quiet pipe even back then.

First generation had the wing over the transom and no rear sponsons(shoes under transom), not a bad boat but mine always seemed to find a hole at least one heat per event.
 
yep 2nd. i had the top fuel wing boat. then we scrapped that went to bottom sponsons.. then he went to sponsons on the outside for a brief moment then back to under. :)

I never saw any without sponsons underneath. I saw some of the first for sure. Art Mcmeans had 2 of them at our local race in Mobile,Al in 1992. So did Maynard Cagle. All those had the upside down wing with underneath shingle style sponsons.

Underneath sponsons (shoe's) are what I had, also had the second generation 67 boat which had traditional rear sponsons.
 
Yeah this is a first gen with the wing removed. Underneath sponsons. I never ran the wing again after taking it off. You can see the holes in the tub.
