Charleston Fall Nationals

Just thought I would see if anyone has heard any rumblings as to whether we will have this race this year ? It's always been a favorite of mine even though it has changed quite a bit . Anyone hear anything ?

I hear it isn’t looking good.
Also with the voodoo race happening mid November I believe most will attend that race.

Certainly with the added costs of everything most won’t attempt to make both.

Man I hope the Fall Nats happens. I really would love to experience the VooDoo pond but it's 2 days of driving for me each way.

So in doing a little inquiry the big issue for the CMB club is man power. I'll be the first to admit when John Knight stepped away from boating I wondered what lay in store for the future of that club and it's races. Like him or not John Knight gave his heart and soul and was the driving force for the CMB club and the races they held. For CMB losing him was monumental and you can't convince me otherwise.......

There's enough Corbins to field a football team.
Really though, let's get enough commitments from outside the club to assist & let's make this happen.
If they miss a year, they loose the title of Nats, is this still correct in IMPBA?

That is correct. They will loose the title.

Those two races are a long ways apart. I Feel like the boaters from upper Alabama and lower Alabama would make both races. Sounds like a few others also. I heard John Knight helped with the race back in October and did a great job. Hope it comes together ! Jeff Lutz

I personally enjoyed the race more while John held the reins of the race/club.
Maybe we could talk him into a "cameo" once a year???

I know , just saying Rick .. I live 8 hours away so working on the lake might be a problem . I could pull some retreive boat or corner judge duty once there though .

Once the title is gone … it’s REALLY gone.
The Northern Nationals missed a few years because the D2 club who had been hosting the events lost their pond. Our Northern Lights club applied to have the Northern Nats reinstated. Our formal application was shot down by the IMPBA board.

I disagreed with that decision then and I still do to this day...........
