I guess you got 3K laying around you want to invest. Easily that in everything for that boat. Good luck on your build. Hit up RaceMechanic IE Tyler G for some good info on what you will need to do that boat up right.

That is a rough hit to wallet but do it right the first time will help in the end i hope . thank you Mr. Hughs for the information ay take a few months to complete . Mr .Grim said he may have a kit . I will try to take any help i can from all of u racers . adam

Adam, Ralph builds some nice riggers. You can build the power system from mild to wild. There are some great options to build a competitive heat racing power system under $500 for the ESC, motor and battery. I can help with any questions.

Tyler, I've got a new 60/80 JAE that I just built and I was trying to decide on the power. Would the under 500 power work for this? Would you rig it for me?

Hello Mike, I would start with either the Caslte XLX2 or X8S. Go with the X8S if you want to keep it light and can keep currents under 300A. Otherwise the best option is the XLX2 which can run up to 500A and up to 8S. Stump Fab has both ESC's in stock along with the cooling plates.

I really like the Castle 1717 1560kv motors for Q hydro paired with either ESC.
The TP 4070 is also a great motor. Look at the 1220kv 7D for Q or 1060kv 8D for S.
If you want ludicrous power go with the 56 series TP motors. A 5660 7D for Q or 5560 8D for S. You could also run a 5670 but that's almost overkill if such a thing exists.

Mike I cannot commit to building it. I have too many other projects going on.

Good info thanks for your time to reply with the links. I understand about the time, same here.

I wanting to get into running with the castaways club in the villages but they only run electric. I'll run one of my outriggers and will be hitting Tyler up for some help. Of course I will like to go real fast( at least as fast as the 90mph single gas rigger!)

Jay took some video from his HatCam driving at the recent Brandon TT's He may have posted on FB. I don't use FB or any social media I can avoid.
I took some pics on my kitchen table today. This is the second gen RR 42"that Martin drove at Blue lake. The previous boat same sponsons was a 39" for legal Namba Q.

For some perspective here we tested with a XL2 Castle ($300 water cooled) and TP 1090kv, 1250kv(1527NEU),-TP1350kv and TP1520kv motors on 6 and 8s with props from 2117 to 2419. (TP 4070 $150) Speed peaks 88-95mph running 2 laps. Roaring Top batts.
$450 powerplant for this kind of performance is impressive. The Castle at 350 amps only got to 122 degrees. The motor was hot and bullets melted solder. 98mph that run and we won't push that hard again.

See if this works.
This was first run of the day getting warmed up. Bear in mind timing lights at Brandon are on the right side so your time starts and ends in turn 2 (Bouy 4)
