Sorry I didn’t do another update yesterday…we had mirror smooth water and I was heavily involved in running my 12 boat😎. I didn’t have any luck (didn’t really expect to after having the boat sit in the shop and collect dust fir the last 2 years)… I think my best pass was just over 98.

But earlier in the day Martin broke the 45 hydro oval record with a run of 15.284! The boat will easily go down into the 14’s!!! I will let Martin tell the story of why he quit running it…
 
Another fantastic day!!! The weather was absolutely perfect! We are down to a very small crowd ( that’s very awesome), but still had one record set (they actually lowered it twice). It was S hydro 2 lap with the team of Ralph, Mic and hired driver Martin 😎. Their best time was 16.700. I’ll try posting a video or pics shortly.

What size FE motor ? KV? How many of cell Lipo ? What size prop?
 
What a job Glen and Donna due to put this event on for us. Thank you is not enough! I was there for 3 days and had such a great time with them and now I will spend the next 12 months getting ready for next year! I was trying to figure out what the issue with my boat was and I think I got it figured out:)

It was the U95 ran in 1974 at Seafair with no wings. Bill Muncie ran over the back of the boat in an earlier race and they were not replaced for the Seafair race. It was the first turbine unlimited hydroplane and used two small turbines because the bigger ones were being used to fight the war back then and impossible to get. It is hull #7495 with no name. It sank when one of the engines blew up at the Saefair race. I believe it was recovered and reconstructed as another boat without the turbines. I bought it used and moved the rudder to the right side of the transom for what I call the East coast setup. The seller said it was an ML boatworks hull. I only had it a couple months and did not have time to work with it much. My older Coors light was a bit faster but just got too heavy to carry around.
 
The Skiff saw record was set with an insane hull using a mike butler 25cc engine. We set the record first with a 1.6 crank then came back the next day and lowered it with a mike butler 25cc engine. Bigger is not always better as Mark Grim would say. We used a 2514 three blade I worked up and it was a team record with Steve Sutton. We did all team record attempts together. He is also the one behind a lot of records with prop tweaking and in the record books. You will not see his name under "props used" but by his nickname....hackmaster!

Oh, The engine was a Gizmo mod jug on a Gizmo billet bottom with a 2.0 crank. The jug was set up for a 1.6 crank so I just added some more gaskets for the longer 2.0 stroker.

Sorry for rambling. Just got around to posting. Special thanks to Glen, John Beardslee, and Jason for all their hard work to make the event a total success. It was a great group of model boaters and everyone helped each other as it should be. Loved it!
