Hey all,

Have bought a CMB 45 M-Line...although not sure what to put it in :D

I am not a fan of FSRV/Multi style boats. I like to sail something that looks like a boat. I've got 3 Catamaran style hulls already, so fancy either a hydro or a Deep-V - preferably a Deep-V if I can find one - but struggling to find manufacturers of anything suitable.

Any suggestions? :)

Yeah I've seen Phils Stealth 45 and its made breathe very heavily indeed haha.

Right now from what I can see, its a coin flip between that and an AC Model Boats Lazer 40.

From my understanding a hydro is better suited to flatter/calmer water and weather, is that right?

Jake I run a phil thomas sport 40 with cmb 45 rs evo in it with a 67 ops pipe it I very fast I have a rough water set up and came water set up its seems fastest with a little chop on water I'm sure those boats you are talking about are good I can only speak from my experience I live in Michigan it seem like the wind is always blowing 😊 Jeff

Jake ask Question. will you install collet Drive or square drive for new CMB 45M-line ?

Thats interesting to know and good to know, thank you!

My friend sells a boat FSR-O 7.5, Delta Force (original).
The boat was made by top competitor Zhao Bo from China.
If you are interested, I can connect you.
Blue boats in the picture.

Hi Koban, thank you for that! I've seen a Delta Force in person and they're raced along with the FSRV/Multis so its not my kind of thing/boat really. But thanks all the same!

If you are thinking about a deep v, consider looking at Seaducer boats. Jerry makes one that might be suited to a 45. It's 38 inches long.

I checked out seaducer boats, lovely looking, but still too close to FSRV for me.

I decided on an AC Model Boats Lazer 40. Seems ideal. Iv'e sent them an email to order and waiting for a reply :) - thanks everyone for their help.

All mono hull boats are similar to FSR-V boats. There is a major difference in drive mode between FSR-V and FSR-O.
The first has an underwater drive, the second a semi-submerged prop.
If you want something that isn’t like this, it’s best to choose an outrigger or catamaran that doesn’t have a V or a deep V hull.
There are few catamarans in the 7.5cc category on the market and on offer.

If it was me I would look to see if you have more 45 monos or more sport 40s in your area to compete against. Luckily in D14 we have a big sport 40 following and we have some crazy wind here at times and Phils boats stays hooked up. Enjoy and have fun.

Lazer 40 from AC Model boats has arrived. It is beautiful. What a lovely hull with an absolutely fantastic finish.
