Dave, just out of curiosity, what is the Tom David sponson. Is that the extra step halfway I see on the picture?

Yes it is.When you order a 21 JAE from zipp kits you can ask Joe for the Tom David sponsonOr you can order them by them self.

Also, take a close look at the front tips of the sponsons. There's an overhang that Tom claims acts as an air trap and works to hold the front of the boat down at speed. If you're interested in this particular hull I'd suggest you get in touch with Tom for details of his build. He's a wealth of knowledge and doesn't mind sharing his experiences. Not positive but he may do the same to the front of the tub as well.

Your right on the sponson overhange and the center section is the same way. This kit is the way it comes from Zipp Kit

Regarding the tips.. parabolas are more efficient at subsonic speeds.. (pointy things are bad at our speeds). So.. adding the larger tips could have been as they are.. centered or with the overhang on top.. it would all act the same.
