sorry for the rookie questions.
I just got a used engine (OPS .65 gold head) about 2 months ago from a gentlemen that told me he installed new sleeve and piston. Now today I started the engine for the first time and it started right away without any issue. My 2 concerns are, im starting the motor inversed to my sport 20 with a os MAX ( OPS gold head started when I reversed the polarity of my sulivan starter). If I tried starting it the same way as my OS inbord, nitro would be coming out of the carb and nothing seemed to be going to the glow plug. I find that weird that 2 inbord motor start 2 different way or was something not reinstalled properly in the motor?
Also, when i started it, it was vibration like crazy. To the point where I would go to the carb needle to adjust it and it almost felt like a very powerfull phone vibration. Kind of hard to explain.

I can try to provide more details but I'd like to try to get that fixed, any ideas where to start?

Inboard engine, standard rotation is counter clock wise looking at the prop.
What you are discribing, sounds like rotor disc, to crank pin is 180* out.
The rotor on OPS engines have 2 slots that the crank pin can engage
Sounds like it was assembled incorrectly.

Easy way to tell. Look thru the carb intake. Rotate the motor over. IF you see a rod when the window is open, it is back wards. It will be rightr in the middle. CAnt miss it.

It can cause the vibrating issues. But I would think it would be jsut the same rotation mass. I think its more of the motor is just not happy trying to breath correctly. Switch it around and it should be good.

Michael,
If you happen to need backup, spare parts I have an OPS 65 gold head an OPS 67 (BOTH ABOVE ARE INTERCHANGABLE) Both are well used but are decent for parts. $75.00 each, if you take both I'll pickup the shipping.
