I bought an ultrasonic cleaner and need to know what to get as a safe cleaning solution for small nitro engines. I don't want to dis-color or deteriorate the aluminum. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks, Ron

Ron,

We used to use ethanol in our ultrasonics at work. I suppose if you've got some old methanol (from fuel) you're not using, that would work pretty well.

Thanks. Brad.

Ron I always used a crock pot with antifreeze, you put the parts in and they come out like new :p

I have used this product for many years with no discolor or harmful effect on any motor parts. In a small cleaner, approx. 1\2 teaspoon per 8 oz. of distilled or deionized water. Use of tap water may leave spots from the calcium or lime content. Works better if the solution is warmed and a small brush will help. Engines look brand new and you don't have to worry about heating ethylene glycol in a crock pot. In fact, it has many household uses as well. Great product.
