Looks like a visit is in order....
And that motor put a hurtin' on a lot of excellent boats....plus it won the "king of the lake" fastest clocked boat

Just an update on the One Eyed willy Cat build...first off the eye surgery went very well and things are healing nicely...one can only appreciate vision after loosing it.
Ok...so I installed the replacement 4" rudder bracket...cut some vinyl for a little pizzaz and layed down some Jungle green from Krylon...the Radio box was fun..this where I can really play around...I looked at many of your pics and even online and there are 100 ways of doing this..so I took the most logical ideas...I ordered two digital Savox servos from Gizmo..a 1230sg and a 352 for throttle. I ordered a 5000mah 6.0v battery for power but it was way too big for the radio box...found a 1600Mah that fits nice...my reciever is rated for 6.4 volts otherwise I would do the LiFe battery..
The biggest issue currently is the exhaust....I dont want to hack up the cover deck..but many of you said I would need to.....so a wrap to center is out...cant adjust the pipe....a 105° is out...not enough bend in the pipe for my liking...so I'm thinking a drop pipe or a short 90° one of those will work so I will order both...then only open the rear of the cover....

what you can do Robert is try the exhaust inside the boat and see how it runs, you can always change it later on. I think mine was a 105 header, with a 90 header you might have to trim the inside of the boat to run the pipe out the top. a 90 is nice because it doesn't block access to the radio box. that 5000 pack sounds impressive if you could fit it, my boat runs a 2500 pack that I make myself so if I need a hump or a flat setup I can make it work. looks great

Thanks for the tip John...Mike Faszcza said the same thing...
105 is a drop in and go....he asked for a couple pics...he said my 105 bent is large compared to his..there is a pic a couple posts back that show how tight his pipe is...so what I explained to Mike was...I had the boat made with extra heavy layup both hull and cowl..so all the little issues are coming from thicker glass work interfering with the exhaust.
So worst that can happen is I cut the pipe and bent it the shape I need and find a TIG welder and weld it up...easy peasy.
Well the stuffing tube is mounted..strut installed and flex shaft cut and installed..
All I need now is a gas bag and fuel line...and the exhaust issue...and some water....

The header you have is 2inchs out then a 105 bend .the header you need that I'll give you on Saturday is a 105 bend as close to the motor as possible, all your issue will be over .

years ago we ran aluminum headers, bolt them up to the motor and give it a tug to adjust what angle you needed, not anymore !.not sure what temp is in virginia but I went to work this morning it was 16deg, brrrr. you got some time before the ice melts. your build looks good so far.lets hope for an early spring

John...yea...its cold here in Va. as well..I dont know if our club lake is iced or not..but spring is just ahead....and im looking forward to it...
So I have all the water fitting in place...auto drains installed...I'm waiting for joe at Zippkits to get gas bags in stock(24th)..run the fuel and water lines the do a bench run test to get the needles somewhat set....oh....and the exhaust...I may play around with steel brazing...its been awhile since I've done that type of stuff and I have now two steel headers that are equal to worthless to me to practice on....

yes you got time, this morning was a record. 9 deg!. by chance robert do you go by the name willie?. i was in the pits in maryland and the guy next to me was named willie, wasnt sure if this was you

No...I dont go by Willy....I knicked named myself that after my eye surgery..everything is healing and sight is off...mostly the depth perception...but the Doc Said I need more time to heal up..just as long as I can read the righting on a grain of rice from 100 yars again I will be good...I usually go by the knick name Okiedoak...
