No joke Brad. I get people coming in for a job who can't figure out a bolt circle with or without a canned cycle in a DRO. As far as figuring out an angle and using a sine bar, they don't even know what a sine bar is.

That's why I commonly refer to it as "That rag you've got hanging on your wall."

I've worked with (and for) far too many "engineers" who couldn't engineer their way out of a wet paper sack, let alone recognize the proper tool for the job. I had one once ask me "Why is a left handed threaded hole such a big deal? Can't you just tap it from the other side?" And he was the guy quoting the work and deciding my pay. :mad:

To me, if you've not gotten your hands dirty in the field of your degree, you're not an engineer. You just got a rag on your wall. Period.
