Who are the people in the know who I can bounce some questions off RE sport hydro design? Not looking to bend the rules, but want to make sure that what I want to do does not fall outside the rules.

it is regarding double sided taping on sponsons to a center tub, which would mean the inside edge of the sponson in the picklefork would technically be 1/32" or so outside the sides of the "tub" as per the rules I am unsure if this is OK? Pretty sure not.

Also, has someone got a sketch that clarifies this section for me from the IMPBA rulebook
Section 4, A 10
Belly pans are allowed but must terminate aft smoothly and extend no further than 50% of the aft plane. Belly pans must be at least 3/8 inch above the bottom planning surface of the boat measured with the boat resting on its 3 points on a static table

cheers
Kris

For NAMBA, I would check with Eric Bourlet
For IMPBA, I would check with Rick Grim or Don Ferrette
If needed, you can get contact information for each on the NAMBA or IMPBA websites

Thanks, just what I needed! All reasonable people to deal with :)

I don’t think anyone is gonna get butt hurt over 1/32” difference.

But, is it legal? lol, I am talking SAW boats, not oval also

Could you just run something like a 1/16th of ply down the outside edges of the tub to just before where the two sided tape is applied to “make-up” for the difference, if it’s a problem?

that is what I will probably end up doing. in the pickle forks OR sides of tub. I guess if its grey area, then I will stay away from it. Any argument is basically lost from my side as the diagram shows what is illegal :)
