Building my first Nitro Scale hull and wanted to know how big to make the tanks.

I will be using 2 tanks, and I have a CMB .67 blue head.

And yes I like to go out early on the clock to set my timing. LOL

I have to agree, no less than 20 ounces is going to be needed. I run a pair of 10 ounce tanks, run in series, in my boat and I'm just about empty after a heat with a full 3 minute mill

Yowza guys... I've run nitro scale for a heckuva long time and never run more than 16oz. Current setup in both my boats is a 12oz main tank with a 4oz sump. The only time the 12oz tank drains fully is if I have to run a penalty lap. Y'all gotta lean out a bit!

Scott, if I can get one of my new boats ready to go in time for the start of next season, I'll let you see what you can do as far as tuning. I am running 50%, if that makes a difference. Something you also have to remember is you're running "stealth" boats when you compare them to my Elam

I ran CMB 67's for years, even in a big, heavy Miss Exide two wing hull that pushed a ton of water at lower speeds during the milling period. That boat had two 8oz slant tanks.
For the past few seasons I've been running Novarossi 67's and as Mark mentioned, both boats I'm running now are very light, so admittedly they probably don't use as much fuel as heavier boats might.
Mark I ran 65% this past season, but I don't think there was any benefit over the 60% I'd run before so I'll switch back next year. And YES I'd be happy to help tune your ride!
