My buddies SS mono has one of those cones of water in the roostertail I've seen before and didn't think much about. We thought it might be coming from the drive dog but he counter bored his stinger strut and has it tucked in nicely.

Any ideas?

Could you post a picture of the boat's transom and hardware? I've got a thought but need more info before I say anything

Not the best photo I know. He has 2 trim tabs, a small skid fin on the RHS, his own strut and a long rudder bracket.

Hard to see but if you look at the roostertail in the corners there's like a fire hose jet of water in it...

Terry,

The video shows a continuous stream of water before any prop blast. The rounded shape of the strut in front of the propeller can cause this. A change in the shape of the strut to a rounded bottom with sharp protruding edges on the sides should be tested.

I'm going to defer to Jim on this one. What I thought it might be isn't the case due to the hardware layout.

Never thought of that Jim, thanks. Will check it out with him.

What about the prop?

Does it with other quite different props as well...
