I did look it up, and chose Solidcam instead. I didn't like the cloud base thing about fusion. I saw quite a few complaints about server down. I have found the Solidcam to be very useful and Solidcam works inside Solidworks. Very cool stuff!
 
Not a fan of Fusion myself, the cloud is sketchy at times. Id rather pay for quality software. Fusion works just fine for lots of folks, and ive pplayed with it a bunch but im a Featurecam fan.
 
I totally agree the cloud thing is funky! But you can also work offline.. some of the features in fusion are great, like dropping in 3d step files of catalog parts.. I use it for all my cad/cam and 3d printing.. I was just curious if you had tried it.. I myself am stuck on the fusion 360 train.. I get where you are both coming from though...

Hey James;
Does the Feature cam work with solidworks. I mean can you import vises and clamps and fixtures to see any interference in verification?
 
Victor, yes sir. Its a very powerful software. All the bells an whistles that you would expect from a high end CAM package. Imports are easy.

CAPT VIC, do you have plans to make more? If not, what would it take for you to allow me to make them for you? I am a GibbsCam user and quite proficient with parasolid models.

If you’d like to see my work, let me make one of your mounts for you. If you like it, we can talk. If you don’t like it, throw it in the trash and I won’t bother you again.

I am really picky about the quality of my work. If I won’t run it on my boat, I won’t try to sell it to you.

And I won’t sell your stuff out the back door.

Hi Capt Vic

I have your mounts. Fitted to 2 of my Outboard Tunnels (7.5 + 3.5). Now my son has stepped up for a second 3.5 boat and wants something better than the old Prather style mounts. Do you still stock the 3.5 size for the K&B lower unit?
