Jimmy Johnson is enjoying the Huntsville conditions taking his K&B Powered CA Aftershock for a 2-way average 62.46 mph ride through the lights nudging up his own record set in November 2015.

Several pats on the back are in order for the effort required to accomplish this. Congratulations!!

Jim Allen

I wonder if anyone filmed this ....I also am looking carefully on the canard style wing .......is it gyro controlled or fixed..?

The wings are connected to a jack screw for adjustment. You can see the Allen Bolt that is blue coming out of the top of the cockpit.

did jimmy johnson do any mods to the motor , some people have complained about the crankshaft breaking.....bob

I was there and watched this boat make many passes. It brought back really good memories for me. I enjoy the sound of that redhead when it turns on.

The cranks were not heat treated properly in the very "first" production run of the Redhead 7.5's.
I believe if my memory is not failing me that was about 50 motors....
All subsequent motors had good cranks....You can tell the difference visually by looking at the cranks.
The bad cranks were shiny ground cranks.... The good cranks were a dishwater brown like they had been heated up after grinding.
These were the K&B Redheads that came out of K&B in Lake Havasu... I have no idea what MECOA released....
There might have been some bad cranks there that MECOA obtained from Havasu.....

rod , thanks for info , i had a new red head that during the first time running the fly wheel blew off and took part of the crank with it.....bob
