I dont expect to do well.. Boat racing has not been my focus for a few years now.. but.. if I get in one good side by side.. that would be nice.. should be fun!. then again.. ya never know.. I whopped up on em at the MBC race last year so "OLD AINT GOT ME YET"...

I think my junk boats getting to old...LOL.. my current VS1 is now 11 years old.. My Nemesis is.... lets see... 12 years old..LOL.. I cannot build anymore so its taken then fun out of it for me. And.. I CAN NOT bring my self to run a white boat with decals on it...LOL...

Announcer.....There goes Jimmy John,john.. he is running the white boat with the permanent marker windshield on it! LOL

My first race for 2019 will be the Internats.. Not sure how much testing I will do ether.. I have about a gallon of fuel and so if I make it though that gallon that will be alot of testing LOL.

Grim

Grim,
I am looking forward to meeting you as well. This is a great site for racing. The Huntsville Club does a great job on the Internats as we were there a couple of years ago. Dont worry about being out for a while. It will come back quickly. I was in the same boat as you 5 or 6 years ago when Mike and I returned to racing after leaving the hobby for about 17 years to raise our kids. Like riding a bike!!! Have fun, thats the main gain here for all of us, but be ready LOL. These tunnel classes are more competitive today than ever due to these new Nova engines. No mods necessary. These days we can spend most of our time on setup and props. We only made it to one race last year due to ongoing responsibilities, but that SOWEGA Tunnel Race in May 2018 (used to be in Charleston) was awesome. Its gearing up to be another great one this year. There will be close to 25-30 tunnels in most of the popular classes. This is no doubt some of the best tunnel competition assembled at one location than you can find anywhere in the world. See you soon!!!

My first internats was at that pond! (1999). Nice place.. Hotter then H E DOUBLE TOOTHPICKS!

got to see Ed Lackey make some VERY FAST attempts during trophy trials. At that race they had transponders.!.. some will remember!

Mike Tally was the man of the event with an XTR21.. I was driving one in B as well. I got the win in B Mod BUT.. could not pull it together for the US1.. I took 3rd in Sport Tunnel with a brand new design called the Villian S1.. Talley got the win.. super fun times.. Carl Strum was fast too!.. heck.. so was Tommy.. So glad i got to race with Tommy. That was a lot of fun.

Im not out of it.. I just dont care to much. Not being able to build the boats I race is a HUGE stick in the one good eye I have remaining..haha

And just so you know.. I have won some biggies.. and with one eye closed.. what a pain in the ass that was/is.. 60+ boat classes is nothing to sneeze at!

So on...

Grim

Thanks again to all for the great information hopefully all the ice will be melted in the next month so my friend and myself can resume tunnel hull testing.Regards Andris Golts.
