Afternoon everyone,

I've got a JAE 21 G2 that's been 3/4 built and sitting on the shelf for too long so yesterday I got it out and got back to work. Most of the construction is done and it's well sealed. I won't be able to order a hardware kit for it until ZippKits gets re-located in Florida which I'm told will be Monday. It's going to get a GO motor that I received with it. Don't know much about that brand but it looks well made. What kind of pipe and header should I use on this combination? Also what is a good prop for it? Honestly while I plan to race it I doubt I'll have the fastest boat in the place but as long as I'm having fun I don't much care. It's built straight and to plan, no mods. I was reading an earlier thread on this boat and it made me wonder if there is anything I should do to make it run smoother/faster? After this long I'm ready to get it running and take it to a race. Since I normally only run tunnels, what IMPBA class does this boat run in? Thanks.

Otis

Otis,

Congratulations on your purchase of one of the best .21 size heat racing boats on the market today. No mods are necessary for ultimate heat racing fun. I would recommend the CMB .21 nitro pipe at 8 1/8” from center of cylinder to weld. As far as props, try an ABC 1715 17 45,. The ABC H5 and H7 may also work well. If I remember correctly, the novarossi headers will fit the Go motor. The Impba class is B hydro.

As long as you built the boat to plans, the only adjustments you will need to make are to the turn fin angle. Then just try different props. No other adjustments are necessary.

Have fun!

Hi Otis,

Congratulations on the built. I think you're going to have a ball with that boat. I am a mono person however saying that the only Hydro I own that run is the same boat you have. I actually ran with a Mack 21 motor and use a ABC1614 Cleaver prop on the boat. I know it's not the recommended prop for the boat but the boat was stable and I'm telling you now the boat is ridiculously fast and fun to drive. I agree on the recommendations made above I would like to add one other prop to your list. In rough water you need to try an Octura X445 two blade prop. As Greg said in the impba you will race the boat in B Hydro

Welcome to B Hydro
