I've come to recognize this forum serves only as a place to bully and intimidate. And you wonder why there's so much school violence.

I have been attacked, bullied and have had my business integrity questioned. You don't hear the thanks I've received for championing a poor rule as it was originally written. If you're a dissenter your time is up. Suck it up. The rule is in place. Work to improve on it, modify it, replace it. But do so with civility.

As I talk and ask many others about this thread and peoples post the vast response is , I quit IW ages ago and most of the names posting have been stuck on themselves forever.

My time and advertising and investment on this site has ended. Too many other venues out there.

Bill, you've also heard a LOT of questions, and a lot of constructive feedback, based on actual experience with these types of rules.

If this is how rules are going to go forward with NAMBA from this point on.... throw crap at the fence and then let others clean it up, while telling them to pound sand, well, just wow.

Hard to have an organization taken seriously with that type of process. It's no wonder the Nitro guys look at most of FE as the Red-Headed Step-Child of the group.

Is that what I said Darin? Twist it to how it fits you. You just continue as an insulting person thinking youve got all the answers. You dont! This is all part of the reason that most all racers in District 8 dont go to a District 8 race.

Bill, but you did say that... "If you're a dissenter your time is up. Suck it up. The rule is in place."... what is that suppose to mean? (street translation = "pound sand")

And, insulting? Really? You know me better than that. If something I've said has insulted you, then I'll apologize.

As for D8 races... They are all Nitro and some Gas club(s). The FE group has it's own club(s). I doubt I'm the reason we FE-ers don't attend Nitro races...

As for having all the answers... clearly, I don't think that and would never claim that. But, is it possible that, in some areas, I have SOME reasonable answers??

I suppose it's easier to believe the other stuff. Whatever.

You are right, the rule is in place. Enjoy.

I just read through all nine pages of this thread and don't know the answer but hope you guys figure it out. As an IMPBA record trial CD I'd have to admit if I had to tech a boat that just set a world record with these rules I wouldn't know the difference between legal and illegal equipment. If it has the right lettering/sticker etc. a check goes in the box.

Sounds very much like what happened in IMPBA "Sport Outboard Tunnel", IIRC the rule went through a few iterations before we got something that was simple and easy to enforce (H10):

Bill, I am the one who started all this discussion both of the 1/8 scale rules and for electrics in general. Despite harassment from the moderator and others we finally got some very experienced electric racers to weigh in with thoughtful points. As you can tell, I think that the Pacific Northwest scale racers are on the right track for scale. The P limited and 1/10 scale rules encourage a lot of people with limited electric experience to build boats. People with electrical and electronic backgrounds like the open rules we now have. It lets them push the state of the art for the benefit of all of us.

I would seriously consider the points made about teching equipment. I have long experience racing stock tunnels where engine tear down was always practiced at the Nationals. I insisted in the same thing in the thunderboat class at the 2009 NAMBA Nationals despite very vocal protests. At the club level this degree is seldom needed as the various District 8 clubs, including mine, have shown.

Try to filter out the BS and listen to the valid points. Ask people like Brian, Darren, and Tyler about ideas on ways to easily check the equipment. It's a lot easier to point out what is wrong with the rules than it is to come up with the right rule set. Electrics are new so rule tweaking with experience is going to happen. Don't give up.

Fortunately, you likely will never have to deal with it. IMPBA has that added layer of review where a rule set doesn't turn the apple cart over and throw it in the lake.

Well there went both me and my father's f***ing 1/8th FE's. Mine has a leopard 4092 1050kv and my dad's has a hyperion outrunner. Both of us run over 70c packs I personally run 100c packs in all my boats from one of my sponsors. This is stupid that people don't take in to consideration the fact that people already have BUILT BOATS!!!!! Oh well i guess ill just sell off my fe stuff.

This class of all classes should of never been limited for any reason. For freaking sakes the boats are scaled copies of "unlimited" hydroplanes! The only reason the real boats are limited is to save the drivers lives. The models sure as hell should of never been limited to any sort of restrictions other then scale rules and lipo cell count of 10s which is what our insurance allowed!
