The planned date for releasing the new digital flow meter will be by the end of January 2018

People should get their name on the official list so we can estimate on the first amount to make.

The price is 250.00 plus shipping.These will be the flow basis model.Later upgrade to show relative air density air temp ect.That is in the design phase now.

Very cool!

When it shows relative air density - does it take into account 1)temperature, 2)barometric pressure and 3)humidity? Or just 1 + 2 ? Or?

Dave,

Yes it uses Temp, Barometric Pressure and Humidity from the sensor to get Air Density(RHO). Then there is a calculation done with the automotive standard to get Relative Air Density.

I spoke with Dave and Kevin I know they have been working a ton of hours with Kevins main business with the microscopes traveling across the midwest. This flow meter is going to be nice and I am just being patient with when they will give out more information as I know they have not just these flowmeters as their only focus.

As Brad mentioned we are working all of our free time on the Flow Meter, but I work all day and David and I have a Microscope Business. So our time is really strapped. I know everybody is curious and that's great but we need a little more time to get this first one for production done. I promise the video will be coming.soon.

Here is some great reading and this is how Air Density is calculated https://wahiduddin.net/calc/density_altitude.htm!

From the Air Density the calculation for Relative Air Density is: RAD (relative air density) = 100 * (current air density) / (reference air density, automotive standard 1.1568 kg/m3)

Automotive standard explanation: Automotive world, SAE standard J1349 considers "standard" conditions to be: air temp 77 deg F (25 deg C), 29.235 Inches- Hg (990 mb) actual pressure and 0% relative humidity. On such a standard day, the actual air density will be 1.1568 kg/m3.

So with that information and calculations we get Relative Air Density !
