We'll darn! I was wanting someone to tear me down just so I could see the look on their face! And here them say That's just a stock os! Good Luck to all my fellow sport racers! Can't wait to get back to racing !

Nova Rossi just needs to buy lawless then there is a new player on the pond
couldnt ron just buy a bunch of lower units and put the rossi engines on them add a custom logo to the lower and sell them complete as the "shaw edition factory race outboard"..............

and i get a free one for thinking of it

Someone help me out there has to be either 100 or 500 made and its a go!!!

Jim Irwin tried to come up with his own .21 outboard by having a power head made, and putting it on his plastic lower unit and a custom muffler. It never made it.
While Mark (lights) was making outboard conversion kits and selling GO motors. He was talking to GO about producing an OB motor. They have a PROTOTYPE... Have for a few years.

Ya know it's a dam shame people can't just leave things alone. The sport 20 class had some of the best racing there was. It was never dominated by one guy. All the racers had a sporting chance. Hence the name sport 20. Not stock 20 not beginnes 20. SPORT a somple go no go gauge to keep it fair. But now just like kevin said guys are gonna cut and fit all kinds of crap inside those case's and in the end that class is gonna suffer. Just another example of politics ruining the hobby. Why the hell can't you guys just race boats and have fun. I'm done. Think I will go make some passes on my Allison. And let you guys figure out how to have fun again

Did the prototype have a lower to ?
Sure did, it was a compleat OB prototype. Had a lower much like that of an OS. Wish they would produce it. Maybe they need a push from us RC nuts. Email them about it. It can't hurt, maybe something positive would happen!

Lot's of huffing and puffing in this thread about areas of the rules that have not been altered. My guess is many of you have not read the rules in a very long time...if at all.

Never fear........the quality of racing in the Sport 21 tunnel class will not suffer........

It is obvious a lot of people contributing on this thread are not willing to study and understand the physics of the internal combustion engine and how it works....

Simply put , if you can't get the fuel in and the exhaust out in harmony with each other , all the cutting you do in the inside of the motor is basically worthless....Hence the .320" go-no go gauge.....

With no pipe everybody is limited to the same amount of fuel in......

The people that consistently win in this class have the whole package , not just motor mods......You can cut and hack a Sport 21 outboard all you want and all you are doing is selling more parts for the manufacturers....

You need a good boat , a reliable motor , good prop [that's not to big] , a good set up that will let the motor run [RPM] , reasonable driving skills and the ability to make good decisions on the race course.....

I think you would be surprised at how many complainers on this thread are getting their rear ends handed to them by a properly set up "stock" motor.....

Rod Geraghty

Note: Something for you to think about.....Have you ever heard a motor runaway rpm on the stand????....That is the motor rpm available to you ....now find a set up that will allow you to get as close as you can get to that rpm and have you still be able to drive the boat and finish......

Something else.....I would be willing to bet that more than half of the .21 outboards being raced today were not broken in properly....there is a ton of performance left

on the table with a motor that has not been broken in properly.....That is especially true with the O.S. .21 outboard nickel plated sleeves.....

Someone help me out there has to be either 100 or 500 made and its a go!!!
It's in the rulebook-

B. Engine Specifications

1. Engines must be standard factory production with a minimum of 100 units available for sale to the

general public. To be eligible for the International Regatta the engines must have been offered for

sale to the general public not less than ninety (90) days prior to that year's International Regatta.

Guys. The time to discuss this proposal was the 3 months it was out there before it went for a vote. Complaining after the fact does nothing good for our hobby. It passed by a wide margin. LET'S RACE!!

Don, thanks I couldn't remember if it was 100 or 500.

Larry, see I read the **** rules... Even have stuff highlighted. Like a nerd, just a dick when I actually call someone out...

Any pics?

Always good news to know what the competition has up there sleeves.

Grim
Picture a 21 Go with a lights conversion, like OS lower and a muffler like that of a SX K&B and they have it.
Cats out of the bag
