Spoon, I thought the Illusion was short too, when the hull was being built. I would have to say its runningSeems like the illusion is a rather short boat for a gas engine, and for a g morty lower for that matter as they are heavy. What kind of top speeds are these doing? Must not be to terribly fast as the size screams blowoff, or huge IV bags up front!
in the low 50's with only 2 runs on it. I've not even started to really dial it in. It handles good, just takes some getting use to around the NAMBA buoys, because it will turn very sharp. The radiobox is forward in the boat and I have a 8oz. gas bag right behind the radiobox. I think more adjustments needed on my radio then the boat it self. So far, running 1 deg. positive with a R and R Prop Shop 6717/3 prop. As far as blowoffs, its not any worse then the race set-up on a Catamaran or a hydro. So far so good. I planned on going out this morning but its 18 deg. with the wind chill....BUMMER. May try Sunday.
