I have a 40" Dumas Skater cat with a OPS .80 with 40% nitro fuel.

I had been running a Octura X455/3 prop.

Does any one have a recomendation for a better prop ?

possibally a 2 blade might loosen it up ?

Or should I just look for a better hull first ?

try to put a straight edge across the bottom long ways of the hull i had one and at the transom on each side of the tunnel it had a lip. the lip produced down foce on the nose. if you sand it down until it is smooth no hook it will free up the nose. also check your strut angel raise the rear of the strut. but sand the bottom first. the hook is about 1-2 inch from the transom.

I had one of those cats with a K&B 67 in it and that thing would never run correctly, everytime I went into a turn the hull would settle down in the water and not get back out and run on the straightaways, good looking boat but I could never get mine to perform correctly.

This comment hits the nail on the head.....

I will try the sponson correction.

What about a H & M Supercat XL ?

I can get one used ( good price ) it is 50" long & it is wider too & it is a good quality peice too.

I am just sport running & I believe the OPS .80 will push it fast enough to have fun.
